Arcticfeather entered the camp, a small mouse all she had to show for the morning's hunting. It was a pitiful offering, but it was leafbare. It would be excused.
In the meantime, she needed something to erase doubts about her leadership, in case there were any. And the best way... a ceremony.
She hadn't spent much time in the nursery, so she didn't know very much about the kits. The apprentices- correction, apprentice would be a better choice. And Petalpaw was about ready to have her ceremony, anyways.
With a nod of satisfaction, she leapt up onto Highstump, and yowled the summons: "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather below for a Clan meeting!"

Beestripe shrugged and followed a pair of talking cats--Lightfoot and Thistlesilk--over to the Highstump. Spidersphinx was already there, and watched with sharp blue eyes. Despite his apparent attentiveness, he was bored. Acornheart was out hunting--he would have to explain the happenings to her later. With this thought he sighed. What a pain. Petalpaw poked her head out of the Elder's den, where she had been saying hello to the morning cats. She was old enough to catch her own prey, so she joined the gathering of cats, ears perked.[/ul]

Reedvoice, who had followed Petalpaw out of the den, glanced at Morningdove, who was appearing from the camp entrance- she had been just about to leave when the summons were made. They shared a quick conversation in glance-form, something that they were good at, being siblings that half of the pair couldn't talk.
Do you know what's happening? No, you? Not a clue.
Dreamheart, who had padded up to her former mentor, mostly from force of habit- he sometimes knew what was going on, and asked him what Morningdove had. He had glanced back at her, and shrugged.
The threesome went to sit at the base of Highstump, waiting for the white leader to speak again.

Still looking, she made her way over to the highstump. She wondered about what Brightstar had to say, but that was shadowed in her worry for her brother. She knew that she shouldn't worry. What was there to worry about? It was just that she had been having this odd feeling lately. It was as if something were going to happen, or something HAD happened, but she just couldn't figure it out. Until she did, she would be on the look out for anything suspicious. And until then, she would be extra careful. She just hoped that Leafbreeze would too. [/ul][/ul]

Arcticfeather narrowed her eyes, trying to guess about how much of the Clan was there- it looked like a little more than half from where she was, but she wasn't sure... with a frown, she decided to wait a few more moments in case any other cats were going to appear.

ignored that part of the summons. Windcry had begun to follow the two, but paused, glancing back. One of her own kits had squealed, and, grimacing, she turned back. This was going to be one meeting she'd have to miss.[/ul]

Lollypop thought. With an exagerated(sp?) sigh, she sat down, tail curling over her paws. She rolled her eyes for no real reason. Maybe it was because she had been waiting for a whole 30 seconds. [/ul][/ul]

Arcticfeather nodded crisply- this should be about enough- and swallowed quickly before speaking. "I have called this meeting to make an apprentice a full warrior of this Clan. Petalpaw, please come forward." The white she-cat paused, waiting for the apprentice to move.

. In a daze, she stepped forward, apprehensively stopping next to her leader. Beestripe's crooked smile slowly formed--he was happy for his little sister, but he knew she shouldn't be the only one up there... Leafpaw...are you a warrior yet, I wonder...?"[/ul]

Once the apprentice had stopped, Arcticfeather twitched her ear, and then began. "I, Brightstar, leader of TreeClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I comment her/him to you as a warrior in her turn. Petalpaw, do you promise to uphold the Warrior Code, and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?" The monologue amused her, especially the bits about "noble code" and "warrior ancestors". After all, she had never payed attention to them in real life, and was continuing to ignore and spite them in her death, so all this nonsense was actually comical, when looked at in the proper light.

Not even twitching a whisker to show her internal amusement, Arcticfeather nodded slightly in approval, and then continued the ceremony. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name: Petalpaw, from this moment you will be known as Petalfox. StarClan honors your..." Arcticfeather paused, and wracked her brains quickly. She didn't know the cat very well, and certainly not enough to be naming qualities that made her a warrior. And this pause was not doing her any good. She swallowed, and thought harder. Think! Think!
((Um... did you want the qualities to be anything specific?))

((Alright, I'll make up something generic.)) Arcticfeather stared for a heartbeat longer at Petalpaw-fox, and then said, "...skill and your... respect for their code, and we welcome you as a full warrior of TreeClan." There. That should do it. Arcticfeather placed her muzzle on the top of Petalfox's head with a tiny sigh of relief. Hopefully that sounded authentic enough...

Shadowpelt watched the ceremony with plesure. It was always good to see a ceremony. "Congratulations". He said to Petalfox.

warrior--Petalfox smiled warmly. "Thank you, Shadowpelt!" she purred before bouncing over to Beestripe and butting heads. "Well done, Petalfox..." the tom whispered, voice soft. In his mind, he repeated her new name. It might take some getting used to. Again, he wondered if his other sister had gotten her name, yet. Beestripe dashed these thoughts away--he should be happy for Petalfox. The ginger bengal gave her another bright smile, which she responded to in equal measures.[/ul]

Arcticfeather gave an internal smile. That worked. Good. She leaped down from the Highstump, and settled down to watch the Clan. Anything else that needs doing...? Not that I can think of, anyways. Morningdove followed Reedvoice as he approached Petalfox. He made several quick motions to the warrior, and then settled himself on the ground, casting Morningdove an expectant glance. "What he means is, congratulations, Petalfox. Same from me too. You'll be a good warrior." Morningdove laughed. Reedvoice nodded slightly, approving this translation. "Mm. And I'll third that one." Dreamheart had apparently followed them over, because she was there now.[/blockquote]
