The thin she-cat jumped lightly down from a ledge, catching a mouse between outstretched claws. Blue eyes reflected a soft happiness that she could still hunt small-prey in the mountains. Big-prey, like eagles, she had always and would always be able to hunt. Still, it was nice to exercize her other skills as well.
In small, delicate bites, she quickly devoured the mouse. It had been quite a long time since she had been in mountains- these or others. It was a nice change from grass- and wood-land. Maybe that was why she was always moving- new sights to see everywhere she went.
Standing, she licked the last remaining morsels of mouse from her whiskers, and began padding along the narrow, stony path. There was a meadow here with herbs- ah, yes, herbs, always good to have in cold-weather-seasons- but that was not where she was going, not currently. No, she was just enjoying the mountain scenery before returning back to her current home, by those Clans. They were nice Clans, but something in the air told her that dark mayhem could be afoot. Any Clan medicine-cat could feel it if they knew what to look for. She was alway on the watch for such signs, and the Clan medicine-cats probably wouldn't know what to look for. She had been watching her entire life.
With a bound, she crossed a gap. The sun was already low in the sky, to her dismay. She had expected to get to that lovely meadow-place with the herbs. Her loss of time-tracking had sent her skipping off in the wrong direction.
"Oh, well," she murmured, "the herbs will just wait. In the meanwhile, I'd best find a cave. It's too cold to be out on the mountain-side in this kind of nasty weather."
That decided, she went sniffing about for a nice resting spot.
