Rainpelt padded over to Feralclaw and meowed,"I'm going to be leading a boarder patrol. Coming?" Without a reply, she looked around for Lightfoot.

Feralclaw lifted his ears and widened his eyes. "Patrol?? Cool, I'll come along with ya." Feralclaw washed a little behind his ears and took off after Rainpelt.

(Lightfoot's in TreeClan. Featherpaw's my cat here.)

(Whoops... My bad! ^^)
Rainpelt found Featherpaw(somewhere) and meowed,"Featherpaw, you look like you could use some exercise. We're going on patrol, so meet us by the entrace." Rainpelt searched the clearing once more for other cats.

A little confused and slightly hurt over the "you look like you need exercise" comment, Featherpaaw followed her deputy's direction solemnly, wondering if she'd been eating more prey or something lately. She sat down, still puzzling over Rainpelt's words, by the entrance.

Feralclaw bounded over across camp from the warrior's den, looking excited. "You need help finding other cats, Rainpelt?" He asked a little out of breath.

(She meant that she looked like she'd been kept in camp a long time.)
Rainpelt turned to him and replied,"No, they're all busy at the moment." (There are no other warriors from me, feral, and wilted rose) She padded over to the entrace where Featherpaw waited, paused to look at her, then led the way out into the forest.

(I know, but Featherpaw doesn't know that. XD)
Once again bemused by her deputy's actions, though this time at the glance she'd given her, Featherpaw followed the other two out of the camp. "Where are we patrolling?" she finally asked.

Feralclaw padded through the snow-stained grass still a little excited to finally be out of camp. He took in a lot of the fresh Leaf-bare air and got a tingly sensation in the back of his nose which made him sneeze. "I dunno, ask the deputy." He replied to Featherpaw's statement.

Rainpelt, still trotting, meowed over her shoulder,"We're going to be heading for the GrassClan boarder and circling the Great Hill to the WaterClan boarder. Along the way we'll be remarking the scent boarders."

Feralclaw was in deep discussion with himself just enough to still hear what Rainpelt said. I wonder where Lichenstar is to be out for so long. He's an elderly cat, so he generally wouldn't be out as long as he is. Especially in Leaf-bare.

Featherpaw trotted along behind them, silent once more. She wasn't a very talkative cat, most of her thoughts reflecting inwards until so many thoughts had bounced around, bunching up and she had to share them. Today was no different, it seemed. Her paws were soon cold from the frosty grass on the ground, and she tried to step in footprints. It took her a minute to realize these weren't Rainpelt's, nor were they Feralclaw's. Who else had been out and about, today?

Rainpelt went on, until she came to the river. She flicked Featherpaw with her tail and mewed,"Across this river is GrassClan Territory." Rainpelt padded up to a huge rock and renewed the scent marker. She leaped up to the top of it and meowed down,"This rock lets us see farther into some territories. We also like to sun ourselves here. Why don't you two come up here for a moment?"

Feralclaw backed up a few pawsteps, got a running start and bounded up. "Wow." He muttered just to break the silence. "You can see a lot of Grassclan's territory from up here." He said somewhat pointing out the obvious which he tends to do a lot.

The apprentice had known the direction of GrassClan's territory from Icefoot's lessons, but hadn't quite known about the rock. She followed Rainpelt up and looked around, paws aching as the warmer rock thawed her pads. Featherpaw took another step, and nearly slipped, catching herself but making her heart jolt.

"Careful now. We don't want our only apprentice(I think) getting injured or anything." Rainpelt allowed some time for the warm of the rock to creep up through her pads, her legs, and then to her body and down her tail. Then she got up and mewed,"I think we should get going." Leaping down, she turned and waited for everyone to follow.

Groaning inwardly, and embarrassed for being so clumsy, the she-cat hopped back down and waited close to Rainpelt, seeking body heat.

Rainpelt waited a few more moments, approximately the time it would take for Feralclaw to jump down beside them, and then padded onward. It had been a long time since she had eatten, so, stopping beside the Great Hill, she mewed,"If any of you are hungry you can hunt. On boarder patrols you don't have to hunt for the Clan."

"Ehhh...I'm about as cold as you are Featherpaw. But if it's one thing you hafta learn before becoming a warrior is to learn how to stand on your own four paws and deal with stuff not just physically, but mentally as well." Feralclaw trotted up right behind the other two. He semi-regretted semi-lecturing Featherpaw like that, even if it wasn't his own apprentice. With that he started up the hill, guessing that it was the next place the patrol was going.
(Wow, did i get off topic there...)

Rainpelt stalked along beside the Great Hill. Newleaf was coming, but not for another moon or so. She could tell by the way the days were getting longer and how she could see the tips of the dead grass rising above the thin layer of snow. Then, quick as a flash, a rabbit sprang from it's hole and dashed by. Rainpelt, with the strong back legs of a HillClan cat, took a strong leap forward to get her going and ran it down, killing it with a snap of the neck.
