Lichenstar sat outside his den, feeling a little weird. He sneezed, but regained himself again. He didn't feel too good, but he figured it was just a cold. Nothing to worry about; just a plain cat cold. It'll pass with time... Lichenstar started grooming himself as the Clan awoke from the night's rest.

Sopttedpath stretched and shook herself awake as she stepped outside her den. She looked around and noticed Lichenstar sitting outside his den, he looked tired and miserable. Spottedpath padded over to where he sat, grooming his fur. "Hello Lichenstar. How are you this morning?"

"Oh, I'm fine," Lichenstar meowed. "I think I might go for a walk... But first I want to go see how Flowereyes is doing." Without letting Spottedpath answer him he trotted over to the nursery. He ducked his head inside; it was nice and warm. He padded in and meowed,"Flowereyes? Are you awake?"
Flowereyes opened her eyes and yawned. "Yes, I'm awake." Flowereyes was somewhat scared that her leader might yell at her for becoming pregnant at such a young age. "What might you want?"
Lichenstar padded over to her and sat down. "Oooh, nothing in particular. I just wanted to see how you were doing before I went for a little walk around the territory... Is everything going alright?"
Flowereyes blinked. "Yes, why?"
"Well, I just wanted to know if the kits were coming soon or if-"
"There were complications? Because I'm so young? So what if I'm young! You can't judge me for that! You should be happy that I'm bringing some new Warriors into your Clan!" Flowereyes started breathing faster. After a few moments though she cooled down.
"I'm not accusing you of anything. Yes, you are young, and that might cause complications, but if everything goes well I'll be thrilled."
"If? If?! There won't be any ifs! And why are you saying there will be complications?!"
"Well, I just know from experience that cats who get pregnant at a young age have more of a chance to have complications than other cats." Lichenstar straightened up. This queen, barely an apprentice was sassing him, the leader of this Clan.
Flowereyes fell silent. She felt so stupid. She took a breath and said,"I'm fine. I just need some rest."
Lichenstar smiled. "Okay then." He got up and stretched as he said,"Well, I should be going on that walk I wanted. Bye Flowereyes." Lichenstar got up and padded out of the den.
"Bye Lichenstar."

Lichenstar padded out into the open. He had to climb up a snow-covered hill though, which was somewhat a struggle. At the top he felt wild and free and accomplished, and he began padding through his territory. He got to thinking of things. Of life, and of death. Of StarClan, and of DemonClan. Of kits, and of elders. Then he got to thinking of himself. Of him as a kit. Of his mother and his father. Of being apprenticed and of his mentor. Of him being made a warrior and his vigil. Of his first hunt alone, and of his first love. Of his first time at the Moonstone, and of his first time seeing a StarClan cat. Of his first apprentice, and of his first apprentice being made a warrior. Of him being made deputy, and of his first duties. Of the good times and of the bad times. Of him being made leader, and of him getting his lives. Of him losing his first, then his second, then his third, then his fourth, then his fifth, then his sixth, then his seventh, then his eighth life. Of him having only one life left. Of him joining StarClan. Of him leaving his Clan for his deputy to lead. By that time he had come to the Old Willow. He remembered coming here once. It was where all cats of all Clans were welcome. It was the mating place. He padded underneath the great tree and rubbed up against its trunk. He looked at the ground around him. It was sacred, although it was covered with snow. Lichenstar kept going until he came to one end of his territory. He turned to the left of his path and padded on. Soon he came to the other end of his territory, which was walled with mountains. He put one paw outside his territory and into the wild. It felt good, as if the air was totally different on either side of the invisible barrier. He put his paws up onto the bottom of one mountain. He wanted to see the Berry Meadow. Lichenstar climbed up and up and up, then down and down and down. Soon, he found it. The berries were frosted with ice and, from where he could see, the Berry Pond was frozen. He padded past the frozen bushes and looked into the ice of the Berry Pond. It was said that when great cats, big or small, looked into the Berry Pond, they saw a reflection that was a message of some sort. He saw his reflection. It stayed the same for a long time. Lichenstar stared and stared, until, suddenly, something changed. A glow came from him; a silver glow. He was startled, because silver glows came from StarClan cats. He blinked and the image was gone, and all he saw was himself. Lichenstar looked up at the mountains that surrounded him. He was amazed. He stayed there for a while in awe. Later, he was getting cold so he turned back over the mountains and back into his territory. When he came to the top of the last mountain he looked over his terriory. It looked so beautiful. He saw everything. From the Old Willow to the camp to the rivers to the Great Hill to Fourstreams. He saw into the territories of WaterClan, GrassClan, and even into TreeClan. He saw the Moonmountain and the Moonfall that ran over it. He saw the Twoleg place, the Graveyard, and the Old Barn. He took in that sight for a long while. He gazed turned to the the horizon ahead of him, where the sun was starting to set. There was no prettier sight than this. Lichenstar ran down the mountain as though he was a new apprentice with no mentor around. He ran along the river and even took a lap or two of water. He continued frolicing up and down the hills. Then he camp to the top of the Great Hill. He was full of energy and excitement. Then Lichenstar lied down and died.
