Bobo slunk out of his cat bed and sat down in front of the TV, watching a comercial about cars. Mary was busy wrapping gifts. Hours past by and Bobo feel asleep again. When he awoke it was because Mary said,"Hey Bobo! Look, I'm all finished. Except..." She had a funny look in her eye and Bobo felt like he should run. She came over, picked him up off of the couch, and placed him down on the wrapping paper. "My folks are gonna be coming soon and they're gonna want to open presents even though it's not Christmas yet." Mary pet him until he was lulled to sleep. Quickly she folded up the sides of the wrapping paper Bobo was on and he was trapped. He jerked awake and made some meowing noises. "Oh, come now! This will be fun!" Bobo heard Mary walk off. She came back and she must have placed a ribbon or bow on it. What is she doing?! Bobo thought. "Meow! Meow!" He felt Mary pick him up and place him somewhere; he guessed it was under the tree in the far back. "Don't worry!" Mary said. "They should be here any min-" "Hellooooo!" "Hi Mary!" "Oh, it smells lovely in her-" "Did you make that special pie I said?" Bum, bum, bum. "Bobo?! Where are you?!" Bobo knew it must have been the family. He reconized all of the voices, and he knew that the Bum, bum, bum had been Lucy running across the floor, and that voice calling for him had also been Lucy. He heard mumbles and laughing and talking and yelling and everything else Mary's family had to offer.

Bobo layed quietly in the wrapping paper. He was desparate to get out, but he knew that Mary must have meant something good to come out of this. He was starting to get hungry, and the smells from the kitchen were no help. "Where's Bobo?" He heard Tom loud and clear, and then Lucy said,"Yeah? I wanted to play him! You didn't leave him outside, did you?!" "No, no, no. He's in here somewhere," he heard Mary say. "But he usually comes out to say hi to me." "Well, you'll just have to look for him really hard then!" Mary said. Then Tom said,"I'll help you look for him." "Can daddy help to Uncle Tom?" Tom sighed and said,"Hey Rick! Come here for a sec!" There was a pause, then,"What is it?"

There was a pause, then,"What is it?" "Daddy! Help me look for Bobo!" He sighed as well, but Bobo guessed that he started to look for him because he said no more... "Come and eat!" Even the sound of Kindra's voice made Bobo shiver. About an hour past before people came back out into the living room again. The men were watching TV and the women, including Mary, were busy cleaning and putting away the dishes. Lucy just kept on searching for him, and Bobo was quite impressed that she cared so much about him. A while past before Mary shouted,"Time for Presents!" Bobo waited and waited for someone to "open" him up. He heard gasps and he heard thank yous and he heard laughs and he heard some,"I needed this!" or "I always wanted this!" He waited and waited in a very tight position. Then someone said,"Hey Lucy: Go look at that one in the back." He heard someone trying to lift him up, and he guessed that it was Lucy because the person had a hard time carrying it. She set him down and ripped the paper. Nothing there but more paper. She ripped that layer off, and still there was another. She unwrapped the last layer and Bobo was freed. "Meow!" Bobo jumped out of the paper and zoomed across the floor, running every which way. Then he ran back to the living room and under the Christmas Tree. He climbed up and up without thinking because he knew he had to get out of there, and climbing was always the best option. "Oh, no!" Kindra cried. "Look! Look up there!" "There he his, that darned cat!" "Bobo!" Bobo had peeked his head out at the very top of the tree where the star was. The tree was very pokey and prickly. Bobo made the weirdest face as he meowed,"Meow!"

"Bobo! Get down!" Mary said. "Meow!" Lucy piped up,"Bobo! Get down or Santa's not gonna give you anything tonight!" Tom looked at her with a smile and then looked back at Bobo. "I'll try to get him." That was Carl. He stood next to the tree and reached up to grab Bobo. Bobo didn't object and let him grab and then lower him to the floor. Bobo sat down and licked his paw. "Did you do that?" Jenice asked Mary. She smiled and nodded. "I must say: That was funny!" Walace said. After all of the presents that were meant to be unwrapped on Christmas Eve were unwrapped, Mary announced,"I guess we should be heading off to bed." "Santa comes tonight! And tomorrow's Christmas Day!" Lucy shouted excitedly. "Yeah, so you gotta go to bed for Santa to come," Rick said as he lifted her into the air. Lucy giggled and let him carry her away. Slowly the room was emptied of the crowd. Then Bobo was left alone. After a while the lights when out and the house was silent. Bobo decided to climb the tree a few times since it was so fun. On his last trip down he decided to sleep in the back of the Christmas Tree, in hopes that he could see Santa...
