Littlestar opened her eyes in her den under the Silverstone. Then she remembered that she was dead. It was a horrible thing, although she was still somewhat alive. She padded out from the Silverstone and looked around. No cat was stirring, so she looked over to the Life Pool. Life. That's what she wanted most of all. Now the closest she could get to life was to look into the Life Pool.

Snowsong woke, and yawned. She stood, and padded out into the clearing. "Good morning, Littlestar," she said.

Littlestar just sighed, though it was not like her. She knew she knew that that was rude to not answer her, but she was depressed. Even though she had been dead for as long as the Clans had been, she missed life. She had been the first good Clan cat to die and go to StarClan. So, she had been made leader. It sucked. She should have been proud to be the leader of StarClan. And not just any Clan; StarClan!

There was a slight rustle from a patch of ferns, and in strode a light-colored she-cat, young-looking, and yet...not, at the same time. "Snowsong," she greeted, quite surprised to see her awake. It wasn't unusual for Littlestar to be up--she rarely slept--but all the other cats seemed to remember sleep better, and fell prone to weariness every now and then. Riverpaw herself had fallen "asleep" earlier than usual, in what she supposed you could call night, but had been restless this morning. Instead, she wandered the forest--the vast forest that never seemed to end. Each day, Riverpaw got a little farther...but something persuaded her to return to camp each night.

Littlestar looked up at Riverpaw. "He misses you. I can tell," she meowed. She went back to staring into the pool, seeing an image of Pigeonstar. Then the image changed; he was with Pumaheart and he looked somewhat shocked. "I think she told him. It was the right thing to do."

Grief split across the apprentice's face for a second, and she found herself inching towards the Life Pool. She pretended it was not for the cat who she once believed to be her destined mate, though a tiny spark entered her eye which always appeared when someone mentioned Pigeonstar. "Pumaheart should not have had to live with it for so long..."

"Well, now at least one cat knows." Littlestar straightened up and said,"It's yours." She padded over to the Silverstone and sat underneath it, grooming her paw.

Riverpaw, almost nervously, went over to the pool and looked in. Her tensed shoulders relaxed slightly, and her expression softened. "Pigeonstar..." she whispered, blinking affectionately at the white tom, though her could not see or hear her.

Snowsong looked around the clearing. She padded over to the edge of the clearing, and began to wash her white fur.

Littlestar watched Riverpaw with envy that she had a lover. Then again she did have a secret lover. But for her punishment, she assumed, he was lost forever...

(A what? Whatever.)
Littlestar started pondering over the thought of where he might be, even though she had done the same thing almost every single day. She was sure he hadn't gone to DemonClan; she was sure of it.

Though she could never grow weary of watching Pigeonstar, Riverpaw extracted herself from the Life Pool and walked over to sit my Snowsong. "Good morning," she greeted, "if you could call it that."

Littlestar padded out of camp and into the Golden Forest. It lived up to it's name with flying colors. She looked up to what should have been the sky. She saw a crystal clear blue sky with a cloud or two dabbed here and there. The trees stood strong and the leaves changed colors as the colors on real trees would change. Right now there were no leaves, and below her paws was what would have been passed for snow. But it wasn't cold. Littlestar wandered on, leaving a trail of sparkling paw-prints as she went. She had seen every inch of the Golden Forest. It would seem like a maze to anyone else, but after many, many, many long years she had gained the knowledge of where everything was; from the boarders to the Sparkling Stream to the Emerald Pine Forest to the Pearl Beach. Everything was all there, but it would be almost impossible to find unless you had lived there for a long time.
(I am making a map of the Clan Territories, and I will make a map of StarClan and of DemonClan.)
