Wolfstorm, having emerged from the rose tunnel, waited for Birdpaw to follow, while deciding where he thought the most prey would be. He decided that a half-sunny, half-shady spot near the river (or stream) would be a good spot. He announced that they should head downstream to look for the spot.

Birdpaw emerged from the rose tunnel and decided to glide after Wolfstorm. He liked to glide since his short legs wouldn't get him very far.

Wolfstorm padded down the riverbank, looking for a good spot. After several minutes, the reached a spot that looked promising. "We'll try here," Wolfstorm declared, and sat down to do some fishing.

Birdpaw landed a few fox lengths away from Wolfstorm and settled down to fish. His eyes scanned the surface of the water, and all of a sudden he saw a shimmer just under the surface. Birdpaw slowly stood, knowing that what he had just seen was a fish. He saw the glimmer again and quickly yet swiftly scooped the fish out of the water. It flipped and flopped all over the shore and he quickly snatched it up and killed it.

"Good catch," Wolfstorm muttered as he watched the water. There was a glint of sunlight on scales, and then Wolfstorm's paw lashed out, grabbing the fish with his claws. The fish was dazed for half a heartbeat, then began to flop around. Wolfstorm finished it off with a quick bite before it could once again reach the water.
"Let's try for some voles or mice or something," Wolfstorm suggested. "It's warm out today, so they might be by the water to cool off or something." The warrior began to sniff around some weeds for prey.

"Okay," Birdpaw murmmured. He carried his fish onto the grass and covered it with leaves. He then padded over to a patch of trees near the water's edge. Birdpaw sniffed around. He suddenly froze as the grass ahead of him moved. It was a mouse. Birdpaw moved forward slowly, but the mouse detected him and scampered away. But he wasn't ready to give up just yet. Birdpaw dashed after the mouse. Why did cats never chase after mice once they run off? It's easy enough to catch up to them, even with my stumpy legs! Birdpaw thought. In seconds he had caught up with the mouse. He lunged forward and landed squarely on the mouse. He killed it with a swift bite.

Wolfstorm didn't notice Birdpaw's hunting, as he was focused on his own prey, a plump bird who was pecking at the mud near the edge of the river. Wolfstorm crept towards the bird, then pounced, his claws sinking into the bird's wings, keeping it from flying. Not a second later, Wolfstorm finished off the bird with a bite to the neck. The warrior quickly raked some leaves over his bird, then sniffed around a bush, to find nothing. Without much disapointment, Wolfstorm went back to fishing.

Birdpaw caught a few mice and then joined Wolfstorm beside the river to fish.

Wolfstorm looked at the prey. "Maybe we should try upstream a little farther..." he murmured, mostly to himself. But the warrior continued to fish where he was.

Birdpaw decided to take Wolfstorm's word and glided upstream. He wondered if he could glide over the stream. I could work... But when I'd land I'd be in TreeClan territory. I probably shouldn't try it.

(Darn, I mean TreeClan. I was thinking about the regular Warriors series and I got carried away.)

((Oh. ^^))
Wolfstorm looked at the prey they had caught. "Why don't we bury this and see how the fish is running further downstream from here?" he asked, standing up.

Birdpaw got a little annoyed. He was far upstream, and Wolfstorm wanted him to turn around, go a long ways just to bury the prey, and then go again. "Fine." He buried the prey and glided ahead of Wolfstorm downstream.

Wolfstorm followed, wondering if he'd annoyed Birdpaw. He shrugged it off, though, and trotted downstream.

Birdpaw started to fish, and caught one. "Do you think this is enough?" He was starting to get a little tired, and it would be hard to carry all of their catches back to camp.

Wolfstorm blinked. He hadn't thought about that. "You're probably right," he said. "Uh, let's go and get the prey..." He started back to get the prey.

Birdpaw carried his fish back to the pile. He stuffed his mouth with all he could carry and waited for Wolfstorm.

Wolfstorm picked up as much prey as he could carry, which was most of what was left. He started back towards the camp, hoping that he wouldn't drop anything.

Birdpaw tried to glide, but it was very difficult with the prey in his mouth. Birdpaw was slowly being left behind by Wolfstorm. Birdpaw didn't exactlly have the longest legs, so that made him slowly than most cats. Birdpaw likes to glide so it makes him seem faster.
